Laser Acupuncture

Laser acupuncture uses low energy laser beams in place of traditional acupuncture needles. It is used in the treatment of pain and inflammatory conditions such as back/neck pain, knee pain, carpal tunnel, TMJ syndrome, arthritis and sprains.

During a laser acupuncture treatment, a beam of light from a laser tube is aimed at an acupuncture point to stimulate it the way an acupuncture needle would.  Comprised of helium and neon gases, the visible red laser beam, heats up the acupuncture point. Depending on the depth of tissue the laser must penetrate, the duration lasts for a period of 10 seconds to two minutes.  Invisible infrared lasers are also sometimes used.

Laser acupuncture is painless and effective and relief is usually immediate.  This therapy is appropriate for all ages, and is effective for children suffering headaches.
