Marisa received her Master of Occupational Therapy degree in 2015 from the University of British Columbia following a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology (2011). Prior to achieving her OT designation, Marisa practiced as a Kinesiologist for 3 years in a vocational rehabilitation setting completing functional testing, implementing pool and land based work conditioning and also serving as an Assistant Clinic Director for a large physiotherapy practice. Previous to this, she worked as an Accommodations Consultant & Clinical Educator for the Vancouver School of Bodywork and Massage. In this capacity she developed accommodation plans for students with disabilities and consulted with faculty and staff to ensure accessibility. As a clinical educator she provided training in anatomy, physiology and kinesiology. Since joining Community Therapists, Marisa has gained considerable clinical experience in Home Health/Hospital Discharge planning, community rehab programs and RTW planning and implementation for clients funded by ICBC and WorkSafeBC, as well as, lawyers. Marisa joined Community Therapists in 2015 and provides Home Health and Return to Work services for clients living in Nanaimo, Parksville, Qualicum, Courtenay, Duncan, Mill Bay and Port Alberni.
