Qi gong

Qi gong is a gentle exercise therapy dating back 4,000 years to ancient China.  “Qi” means energy and “gong” means skill acquired through steady practise.  Deep breathing, meditation and slow stretching and strengthening movements make up Qigong exercise.

Qi gong is practised to maintain health, increase vitality and heal the body.  It is recommended as a very effective form of alternative complementary medicine.  Qi gong’s gentle, rhythmic exercises reduce stress and enhance the immune system. It also benefits the circulatory, respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive and lymphatic systems.

Qi gong benefits all ages.  It can be performed standing, sitting or lying down.  Practises can be tailored to individual needs.

Qi gong is easily accessible through Chinese medicine practitioners and instructors who offer individual and group classes.
